The University of Miami/UHealth Department of Otolaryngology is currently seeking a full time Audiology Assistant 1 to work in Miami, FL. The Audiology Assistant 1 is an entry level position, that will be licensed shortly after beginning this role. This Audiology Assistant 1 improves access to patient care by increasing the availability of audiology services, increasing productivity by reducing wait times and enhancing patient satisfaction, and reducing costs by performing tasks that do not require the professional skills of a certified and/or licensed audiologist. This role supports audiologists in their evaluation and rehabilitation of both adults and children and works well with other audiology assistants in the clinic to provide the best and most efficient patient experience possible. This position reports to the Audiology practice manager. Core job functions include assisting audiologists in audiological testing and evaluation, preparing treatment rooms, cleaning and sterilizing instruments, maintaining patient records, providing basic patient instructions, organizing supplies, performing clerical duties, greeting patients, documenting equipment issues, performing daily equipment checks, and other duties as assigned. Core qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent, completion of Audiology Assistant Certification within the first three months of employment, and preferred experience in a medical setting. The role requires skills in accuracy, organization, multitasking, discretion, teamwork, and ability to work with children and patients with medical conditions. Additional department-specific functions include monitoring schedules, supporting pediatric testing, assisting with clinical visits, participating in research and training, testing hearing aids and equipment, screening hearing, inventory management, and assisting in pediatric appointments.
