This is a medical inventory accounting manager role. This role is ideal for someone who has a desire to oversee and evaluate specific issues and processes that impact overall net inventory. This Medical Inventory Manager is responsible for oversight of inventory valuation and reconciliation for a variety of domestic and global Medical Segment businesses. This role includes reviewing a wide range of inventory reconciliations and inventory reserves, and performing special projects and financial analysis to support the business needs as requested. In fulfilling these functions, this role has the opportunity to work with local finance and inventory business partners in the US, EMEA, APAC and LATAM regions. The Accounting function establishes and maintains accounting policies and controls, completes technical research, safeguards the organization's assets and ensures accuracy of accounting and financial records in accordance with accounting standards. Responsibilities include overseeing team accountable for inventory valuation and reconciliation for Medical segment global inventory, including the US, EMEA, APAC, and LATAM regions; calculation and application of the Company’s global inventory policies for excess and obsolete inventory; COGS clearing for intercompany stock transfers and flash sales; certain tax account reconciliations; inventory reconciliation review; and other misc. inventory COE responsibilities and projects. Overseeing the measurement of inventory at lower of cost or net realizable value (LCNRV). Role requires significant coordination and communication with regional finance and inventory partners. Develop, maintain, and train on accounting processes to enhance efficiency within the accounting department. Lead and support special projects, as required. Possesses relevant experience and capabilities to identify, research, evaluate, conclude on, and document both technical GAAP matters and operational accounting issues. Able to strategically and effectively identify improvement opportunities, employing appropriate tools, cross-functional involvement, and professional skepticism. Establishes processes to review and monitor quality of outsourced staff work product and partners with outsourced staff to take corrective actions. Adept at identifying and responding to internal control and financial statement risk, mitigating risk and concluding on effectiveness of mitigation efforts. Holds self and others accountable for goals and results, exhibiting big picture thinking, prioritization, and collaboration.
