Jazmine Fenlator

After competing in the 2014 Sochi Olympics for Team USA, Jazmine moved to join the Jamaican Bobsled Federation helping to progress the Women’s team with a goal of competing in the 2018 Winter Olympics and create another monumental moment in Jamaican history. The Jamaican men’s team had laid the foundation for her, and she hoped to pave the road for the next generation.

History ultimately was written when Jazmine and her teammates (Russel and Segree) qualified for the 2018 Pyeong Chang Olympics becoming the first all-black bobsleigh women’s team to qualify, in addition to the first Caribbean woman, and specifically, the first Jamaican woman to compete in a Winter Olympics.

During the 2014-15 season, Fenlator-Victorian finished 3rd overall in the World Cup Season Rankings earning a Silver Medal on the World Cup Tour at Lake Placid races and multiple top 4 finishes. She finished 6th at the IBSF World Championships held in Winterberg, Germany.  In the Sochi Olympics, Jazmine competed and placed 11th in the 2 Woman Bobsled competition with renowned track and field hurdler Lolo Jones as her brakewoman.

How did Jazmine become involved in the sport of bobsled? As a multi-record holder and top performer in track and field at Rider University where her coach encouraged her to try a bobsled camp after graduation. She made the team and began her 10+ year career in September 2007.
