Cardiff/Kingston (RWH) Bobsleigh athlete Mica Moore, Olympian for Great Britain and Jamaica, has annouced her retirement. „How lucky I am to have something that makes saying goodbye so hard. Thank you, bobsleigh. What a ride.“, the 33-year-old wrote on Instagram.
Mica Moore started her career as push athlete for pilot Mica McNeill. In their first joint outing in November 2016 in Calgary (CAN), the pair finished second. Two and a half months later, at the end of January 2017, McNeill and Moore were crowned Junior World Champions in the 2-woman Bobsleigh in Winterberg (GER). In the following 2017/2018 season, the pair narrowly missed out on a European Championship medal, finishing fourth, and achieved one of the best results by British bobsleigh athletes in several years with a fifth-place finish at the IBSF World Cup in Whistler (CAN).
